Dub Academy's Community Efforts in the news
Time Warner Cable News recently dropped by to film a segment with Partnerships for Children's "Forever Families" program. 13-year-old Christopher got to spend the afternoon practicing his turntable skills and, more importantly, his DJ dancing skills, while also sharing his story with TWCN's viewers. Dub Academy was very happy to have been a part of this fantastic segment, and we wish Christopher all the best in finding his forever home.
Learn more about Christopher and watch the segment at the TWCN site.
And if you're a Time Warner Cable subscriber, check out this "Local Wonders" piece that they did about Dub Academy (sorry, you must log in to their site to watch the video).
On Thursday, March 20th, 2014 our Executive Director (Lorenzo Villareal aka Benzo) was invited to stop by a local Austin radio staion, 91.7fm KOOP Radio, for an interview with Vanessa Burden to discuss his position in Dub Academy. He also discussed the when, how, and most importantly... why of Dub Academy. But the most exciting news of it all, the announcement of Dub Academy becoming a non-profit and getting our 501(c)3 status from the I.R.S!!
